Location: From the north, access to Watch Lake is east off Highway 97, at 93 Mile House, 13 km (8 mi.) south of 100 Mile House. Follow Highway 24. At Lone Butte, take the turnoff south to Watch Lake.

From the south, turn east off Highway 97 at 70 Mile House, onto the Green Lake Road. Watch Lake is just past the Green Lake, which is well supplied with provincial and private campsites as well as private residences and seasonal cabins.

Mean Depth 4.3 m. (14.1 ft.) Max. Depth 14.63 m. (48 ft.)

Watch Lake

Resorts & Campsites: There is camping, resorts and boat launching along with regular services at Watch Lake.

A large provincial campsite is located at nearby Green Lake. Power boats have a speed restriction on this popular lake.

All manner of recreational activities are available in this area; from water activities, hiking and horseback riding in the summer to ice fishing, skating, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling in the winter.

Fishing Report: While most catches are about 1 lb., rainbows up to 7 pounds have been recorded. This lake is very popular with fishers. Trolling, spinning and fly fishing are all popular. In May the spawning fish can be seen in the habitat enhancement area in Watch Creek, with caution not to disturb them.

Viewscape: You can view the rolling Cariboo terrain from this lake; while the north and south shores still have forested and range land areas, the western end is quite developed with residential and recreational properties.
